Musea Brugge: always different, always interesting

The great appeal of Bruges’ museum collections is their incredible diversity. From the Flemish Primitives to contemporary art, from the fine arts to archaeological finds, not to mention silverware, tapestries, furniture, and poetry, the museums of Bruges contain endless surprises for young and old alike.

16 locations: a huge range of collections!
Musea Brugge offers a huge variety of collections on display at 16 different locations. These are divided into 3 groups of museums:

  • the (fine art from the 15th to the 21st century);
  • the (historical hospitals and the Memling collection);
  • the (the Bruges Museum: the history of Bruges in historical locations).  

Did you know that nearly 1 million national and international visitors come to at least one of these museums every year?
Musea Brugge is also responsible for Raakvlak (the intermunicipal archaeological service for Bruges and the surrounding area) and for Erfgoedcel (Bruges’ cultural heritage department).
